Tondar 90 in Production
Under a new agreement between Iran Khodro Co. and Renault Pars Co., the production of Tondar 90 resumed at IKCO’s main plant in Tehran with a daily capacity of 25 units.

“IKCO is now producing all three models of Tondar 90,” said Mohammad Reza Motamed, deputy IKCO CEO for Tondar production affairs.

He added, “The production began in early October and will reach 120 units per day over the next few weeks.”

According to Motamed, the delay in production was largely due to the interruption in the import of CKD parts. “IKCO has paid its debts to Renault Pars and has paved the way for a smooth supply of Tondar 90 spare parts.”

He added, “The volume of production could increase further - 11 percent more than other manufacturers of the brand. IKCO’s Tondar 90 brand quality stands at grade ‘A’ (Very Good). Another advantage has to do with the skilled taskforce IKCO has at the production line as well as an extensive after-sales services network and modern quality systems.”

On the possibility of having a Tondar sport model in the future he said, “IKCO has already received orders for such car and we expect the figure to reach 2,000 by March 20, 2009.

In conclusion, the deputy CEO said IKCO and Renault are also holding talks on the production of Tondar 90 series R, F and U.
