Michel Rocard: We Welcome Improved Peugeot-IKCO ties

In a visit to IKCO former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard claimed, the technology applied in IKCO is acceptable and that this company moves toward globalization.

He also added, "I don't believe the seven percent share of Peugeot Company purchased by GM would affect Peugeot-IKCO business."
The former French PM asserted that the two companies technically had no problem and they would keep on developing existing ties.
Referring to the recent presidential election in his country, Rocard said, "France will remain supportive of its partners in the negotiations between Iran and the group of 5+1 in Baghdad."
"I hope the upcoming negotiations will secure trust between the two parties, leading to an end to the sanctions imposed on Iran," noted the former PM and added, "I will also discuss the barriers between the two countries in France's new government and will try to resolve them."
During this visit Javad Najemdin - IKCO CEO - cited the 22-year strategic collaboration of Peugeot and IKCO, mentioning that about %70 of IKCO production belongs to Peugeot brand cars, however, major localization of parts has cut back IKCO's foreign exchange dependency.
"IKCO can now design and develop its own cars, three of which are Samand, Runna and Dena sedans," IKCO CEO stated.
In the meantime, IKCO vice-president in quality and product development reported on new product development and the company's plan on export.
