Mohammad Reza Motamed, IKCO Deputy CEO in Tondar production says that 70 percent of Tondar 90 pickup project has been fulfilled so far.
Tondar 90 pickup will be pre-produced by this coming September. It would enter into mass production phase in the first quarter of 2013.
IKCO aims to produce 15 thousand Tondar 90 pickups outfitted with airbags and ABS. These pickups meet Euro IV standard requirements.
The pickup enjoys the same engine as Tondar 90 sedan but the transmission system has been upgraded.
The load capacity of the pickup is 800 Kg. In the first step IKCO intends to present the pickup with gasoline engines, but diesel pickup is also a part of the company's future plan.
IKCO Tondar 90 automatic sedan is the company's new car that would be commercialized in the next couple of months.
Due to the popularity of Tondar (Renault Logan) in Iran, IKCO is holding talks with Renault for production of other Renault products like van, SUV, etc. in Iran.
